When NOAA announces an Atlantic snapper season, best make plans for an early start. Mangrove Snapper are found through out Florida's Shores year-round, but they are only truly abundant inshore during the warmer months. Juveniles can have pale bars along their sides but these fade with age. Mangroves snapper do not get extremely big like their cousin the red snapper. Mangrove snapper, lane snapper and vermilion snapper can be caught with pinfish plugs or dead sardines.
